In partnership with the Stefanini Group company, the cooperative prioritized an integrated security backup policy to proactively safeguard patient data.
São Paulo, February 2022 – Building on a solid partnership that has extended since 2015, Unimed Fortaleza decided to leverage the expertise of Scala, a Stefanini Group, to structure a new information backup policy using integrated security. This measure, which was already in the cooperative’s plans, was accelerated during the pandemic due to the criticality of the data and the need for full protection of patient information.
“Our main goal was to optimize the corporate governance model, ensuring greater agility and security for our processes, especially in a challenging period for society. Having already completed successful projects with Scala, we chose the company to support us in this moment of digital transformation,” says Fabricio Diógenes, who served as superintendent of the institution until February of this year and was responsible for leading the project.
To achieve its objectives, the cooperative contracted Scala’s Backup – IBM SPECTRUM solution, which allows them to meet all the needs of backup/restore and archive/retrieve for customer data. With this tool, it is possible to increase the capacity to manage billions of objects per backup server and reduce infrastructure costs.
“We have a challenge because, at the same time that we need to control costs, we need to guarantee excellent customer service. Therefore, when we talk about reducing, it’s not cutting for the sake of cutting, it’s controlling rationally. With the contracting of Scala’s solution, we were able to do this efficiently, which, in addition to bringing good financial results, optimizes the work of the teams, bringing more agility and security,” highlights Diógenes.
The project was implemented by a team of five professionals. “With the solution active, the Unimed Fortaleza technology team can redirect its activities to the business, fulfilling the company’s strategic guidelines. This optimization reduces time and can bring indirect benefits to all teams in the cooperative,” says Poliana Falcão, Business Manager at Scala.
Last year, the cooperative recorded a revenue of nearly R$ 3 billion, reinforcing its leadership position in Fortaleza. With its own service network, Unimed Fortaleza has approximately 340,000 customers. “In addition to working on expanding the customer base, our goal is to optimize the service dynamics more and more through cutting-edge technology applied to business. The results are already remarkable, and we expect them to be even more expressive in the long term, always prioritizing governance and patient experience,” concludes Fabricio Diógenes.
