São Paulo Social Development Department Adopts Business Intelligence System

The São Paulo State Department of Social Development introduced the implementation process for its new Business Intelligence (BI) system to department staff. This project aims to collect, organize, analyze, share, and monitor information to support the Social Development Department’s strategic initiatives.

With the new system, all data and programs will be stored within a single tool. This will provide access to high-quality information and enable the creation of pre-formatted management reports tailored to the needs of various departments, with a focus on quality and results in the Department’s social programs.

Integration of New Data Sources

According to Secretary Floriano Pesaro, this is an intelligent tool that will facilitate social management in its various aspects. “I am confident and optimistic about the upgraded version. With advanced technology, we will achieve better performance in our services, programs, and projects. We will remain focused on ensuring that everyone embraces the information and the product with diligence, enabling us to advance the system’s implementation,” said the Secretary.

According to Marina Bragante, coordinator of Strategic Management (CGE) at SEDS, technicians and managers will gain a better understanding of the social realities within the State of São Paulo, especially through the integration of new data sources (e.g., PMAS 2013-2015, Vivaleite, Bom Prato, MSE Web, Censo Suas, São Paulo Solidário, among others). This will enable them to monitor, evaluate, and act promptly, the manager emphasized.

Stefanini Scala is the company responsible for the development and implementation of the service. The project was contracted through co-financing from the IDB – Inter-American Development Bank, with advisory support from the UNDP – United Nations Development Programme.
