Enhanced Security and Operational Efficiency with New HR System at Sefaz-PE

The Finance Department of Pernambuco (Sefaz-PE) develops and implements the state’s tax policy, including taxation, revenue collection, and oversight of state taxes. It also regulates procedures related to the tax collection process and develops and implements the state’s financial policy. This includes public accounting and debt management, as well as regulating procedures related to the development of legislation concerning financial planning and execution, and public accounting.

Sefaz-PE engaged Stefanini Scala to address several challenges: a lack of integration with the existing HR system, which led to inconsistencies in employee access privileges; the existence of siloed systems, which prevented the implementation of workflows for identity management; and a high volume of requests for access provisioning and deprovisioning, resulting in inconsistencies. The high number of help desk tickets also highlighted the difficulties employees faced in their daily work.

Following consulting services for solution design, software implementation, and post-project implementation and assisted operations services, the results began to emerge. Integration with corporate and HR systems was achieved, enabling end-to-end control of access.

Security was enhanced, ensuring that active employees now use access privileges in accordance with the current security policy. Provisioning time was reduced, and deprovisioning of accounts within a secure timeframe was guaranteed. Finally, the number of help desk tickets decreased, resulting in greater operational efficiency.
